Activities:

Quality control and research of medicinal products covers:

Testing  as a part of registration, post-registration, batch control, complains, arbitrate analysis, etc.
The control activities cover various therapeutic groups of medicinal products: psychotropic, anticonvulsant, antimigraine, anti-arrhythmic, hypotensive, antiasthmatic, antitussive, antihistaminic, anticoagulant, anticancer, antimycotic,  analgesic, antiviral, steroids with contraceptive action, hormones .
Both active and not active ingredients, raw materials as well as pharmaceutical dosage forms are tested and evaluated. Those tests include  identity of ingredients, purity, desintegration, dissolution, dose uniformity, aerodynamic measurements of particles, etc.

The control-research activity is a part of national program that assures good quality of marketed medicines, proper bioavailability and therapeutical efficacy.
The categories of dosage in pharmaceutical forms tested are : tablets, capsules, transdermal systems, aerosols, ointments, creams, globules, solutions.
Tests are performed with the use of a wide variety of classical and instrumental analytical methods.
The main analytical techniques are: HPLC, spectrophotometry, gass chromatography, TLC, spectroscopy (UV-VIS, IR), spectropolarimetry and electrochemical methods.
The Mass Spectrometry Laboratory performs identification tests based on mass spectra with the use of ionization techniques like EI, CI, APCI and also electrospray (ESI).
We provide also support to the Drug Regulatory Authority through evaluation of the documentation for medicines being authorized for therapeutic use in Poland.
The research activity is focused on elaboration of the new analytical methods and elucidation of mechanisms of drugs interactions at the molecular level.

Quality Assurance

The quality system according to PN-EN ISO/IEC 17025 is being introduced. Documents of quality systems are being elaborated. Used methods are validated. Equipment is calibrated according to the settled program. PTS (Proficiency Testing Studies) are carried out in the department to prove high quality of the performed tests.

Equipment:

HPsystems with UV, spectrofluorometric, refractometric, conductometric, DAD detection,
SpeLC ctroscopic equipment: spectropolarimeter, refractometr, FTIR spectroscope,
Several dissolution units,
Gas chromatographes,
Spectrophotometers UV/VIS
Viscosimeters,
Titrators,
Impactors and impingers - measurement of particles size distribution, aerodynamic diameter and dose uniformity (inhalers, nebulizers and nasal sprays),
Densitometer (TLC)
